Welcome to the
Queensland Homelessness Conference
We are proud to welcome you to the 2026 Queensland Homelessness Conference, a gathering that unites the housing, homelessness, and broader social service sectors to share ideas, inspire collaboration, and drive reform across not just Queensland but all states and territories.
Queensland stands at a pivotal moment with the government announcing a landmark funding commitment to specialist homelessness services. And whilst the housing and homelessness crisis continues to deepen, so too does our collective drive to deliver change. Across the state, services, communities, lived experience leaders, and advocates are working to prevent homelessness before it occurs, strengthen service integration, and ensure that every Queenslander has a safe, secure place to call home.
This year’s theme, advancing change through prevention, partnerships and practice, reflects that solutions emerge when systems work together. Domestic and family violence, mental health, and addiction are not separate challenges; they are interconnected issues that demand a shared response. By aligning housing, health, and community supports, we can build pathways that are not only responsive but truly preventative.
On behalf of Homelessness Queensland, thank you for your ongoing commitment and contribution. Together, we can strengthen the partnerships, practice, and prevention strategies that will shape a fairer, more resilient country for all. I look forward to welcoming practitioners and leaders from Queensland and across the country to Gimuy/ Cairns in May.
